Christmas and New Year in Cornwall

Christmas and New Year in Cornwall

Christmas is a fantastic time of year with many top attractions running special events over the festive period. With the run up to Christmas and the New Year we take a quick look at what’s on during the holidays and how you can make the most of your stay over the New Year!

Ice Skating (Eden Project)

Get those skates on this Christmas at the Eden Project. The Temporary Ice Rink is excellent fun and great for all the family.   Running until the 24th February the Ice Rink makes visiting the Eden Project even better value than during the summer.

For those that are a little wobbly on the ice, the Eden Project runs lessons throughout the winter with coaches catering for all abilities. They will have you up and skating in no time at all.

For more information on pricing and full timetable, visit the edenproject.com website.

Santa at Lappa Valley Steam Railway

Enjoy the magic and wonder of boarding a steam train for a short ride adding to the magic of Christmas. The steam trains are bound for Santas Grotto where children will meet and receive a specially selected gift from Santa himself.

We highly recommend pre-booking as tickets can run out. For more information visit lappavalley.co.uk for more information.

Mousehole Harbour Lights

Now in it’s 55th Year, Mousehole’s Harbour Lights are running until the 5th January. The Harbour lights are beautiful, and the atmosphere is great for families of all ages.

The lights get more impressive every year and this year is no exception. Get yourself a warm drink and enjoy the walk around town with the added benefit of low crowd levels.

St Ives New Year Celebrations

Right on our holiday cottages doorstep, St Ives town will be hosting a fantastic New Years celebration with over 120kg of fireworks and fantastic atmosphere.

Ever year 1000’s of people attend the New Years celebrations with just one rule. Make sure you’re wearing your wackiest, most impressive fancy dress costume.

Roads close for the massive street party at 6pm and celebrations starting shortly afterwards.

One recommendation we have is to make sure you wrap up warm!

From everyone at Golds Cornish Properties we would like to wish all of our customers a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we look forward to seeing you all in 2019.
